Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia – Iota Chapter

Welcome to the website of the Iota Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America is the world’s oldest and largest secret national fraternal society in music. The Iota chapter, installed in 1910 at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, is the only musical fraternity for men on campus and treasures a rich history.

In Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, each man shares a common bond of brotherhood through the love of music. Music is the fiber that binds Sinfonians together here and nationwide. We seek not only the manly musician, but at the same time the musicianly man. Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia forms a lifetime bond through shared experience and love of music: brotherhood transcending simple friendship. With over 200 chapters nationwide, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a rich part of American tradition from its beginnings at the New England Conservatory in 1898 and on into the future.
